On March 21, 2001, Beijing NCS Analytical Instruments Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NCS) was incorporated with the registered capital of 11.11 million yuan. Xu Ruogang, Wang Haizhou and Yu Wenzhuo acted as the company directors, Xu Ruogang served as board director and legal representative of the company, and Liu Bin served as supervisor. The board of directors appointed Wang Haizhou as NCS general manager, with Jia Yunhai, Liu Shaoyan and Jia Huiming as NCS vice general managers.

In January 2002，NCS general manager Wang Haizhou hosted a managership meeting to discuss the company development strategy: To establish the products pattern of analytical testing instruments, analysis-oriented standard materials and analytical test consumables; seek after a domestically leading, technologically unique and technology- integrated product level; aim to establish the company as an internationally advanced analytical instruments corporation with its own intellectual property rights.

On January 16, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) set up the “Bearing Steel Products Production License Review Department of the National Industrial Products Production License Office” in the National Center for Quality Supervision & Test of Steel Material Products.

On February 2, China Iron &Steel Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as CISRI) decided to adjust the leadership of the Analytical Test Institute, with Jia Yunhai and Chen Jiwen employed as director and vice director respectively of the Institute. CISRI fully recognized the outstanding contributions made by Wang Haizhou during his tenure as director for development of the Institute.

On May 29, National Analysis Center for Iron and Steel (hereinafter referred to as NACIS) was certificated by Rolls Royce as the unique analysis service provider in China for its own raw materials and finished products.

On May 31, CISRI decided to adjust the NCS board of directors and manager team. President assistant Jin Mingchang announced on behalf of the investors as follows: Li Bo, Wang Haizhou, Jia Yunhai served as NCS directors, Li Bo as NCS board director and legal representative and Liu Bin as supervisor. The new board of directors employed Jia Yunhai as NCS general manager while Liu Shaoyan, Jia Huiming, Chen Jiwen and Gao Hongbin as deputy general managers, and Cai Hongbin as the office director. On behalf of the investors, Jin Mingchang sang high praise for job performances of the first general manager Wang Haizhou since NCS was founded on March 21, 2001.

On November 22-28, NACIS 50th Anniversary; on 22, a graduate student academic report; on 25, old comrades reviewed the laboratory and visited picture shows and showrooms; on 26-28, spectrum annual meeting; on 27, the NACIS 50th Anniversary celebration meeting was held in Zhongyuan Hotel.

On December 27, NCS passed the IS09001 certification.

In July 2003, formulated the leadership rules of procedures and specified the decision-making process of the “three-importance and one-greatness” events.

In August, NCS Analysis Communications was initially issued, with such columns gradually established as “memorabilia, news footage, academic forum, solutions, NCS product release, as well as corporate culture and management”.

In August, Cai Hongbin served as NCS general manager assistant.

In August, NCS set up its R&D Center, Gas Analysis Instrument Division, Material Analysis Instrument Division, Instrument Sales Branch and Marketing Department, and cancelled the original Planning Department, Research and Development Department, as well as the First and Second Instrument Divisions.

Solved the housing problems of some employees in Shouke Garden

During employees’ paid vacation, started the collective tourism activities organized by division labor unions to Guilin, Mount Lu, Mount Huang and Wuyi Mountain.

NCS set up in an instrument repair station in Ningbo to provide the instrument customers in east China with timely and convenient after-sales services.

On January 20, 2005, NCS held an enlarged meeting of the board of directors and decided to set up NCS Yongfeng Industrial Base.

On January 20, all employees signed labor contracts and the Analytical Test Institute together with CISRI completed transferring of its personnel system from a public institution to an enterprise.

On February 28, entered the plant leased in Yongfeng and the NCS Yongfeng Industrial Base started its early stage.

On April 28, NACIS became the first domestic laboratory approved by NADCAP, covering all areas of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

On August 21, we officially started construction of the Phase-II project of CISRI Yongfeng Industrial Base including the “NCS Analytical Instrument Industrialization” Project.

On October 23, the original position analyzer for metals won the BCEIA 2005 gold medal in The Eleventh International Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis (BCEIA).

On January 1, 2006, the NCS Employee Handbook was released, specifying employees’ basic code of conducts.

On February 20, the physics, mechanics, nondestructive testing and calibration laboratories as well as the Nondestructive Engineering Department started to move into the main experimental building.

On March 10, the joint conference of CISRI dean and CPC branch secretary decided to employ Gao Hongbin as deputy director of the Analytical Test Institute.

On June 15th, CISRI Yongfeng Industrial Base had its Phase-II project completed. On June 24th, NCS came to settle in it.

On June 30, China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) carried out the RMP producers’ review of the Analytical Test Institute and the Institute became the second domestic laboratory certificated with the RMP approval.

On July 24, the enlarged meeting of the NCS board of directors discussed the construction, development and management of the Yongfeng Industrial Base.

On September 20, CISRI Yongfeng Industrial Base held the ceremony for completion of the “Analytical Instrument Industrialization Project” and “Metallurgical Electrical Automation Industrial Project”.

In October, NCS had its independently-patented spectrograph successfully developed and put into the market.

On October 17, Professor Wang Haizhou was elected as the third chairman of the International Committee for Analysis of Iron and Steel Industry (ICASI).

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) approved the National Center for Quality Supervision & Test of Steel Material Products as a Grade-A institution for type testing of special equipment able to be engaged in type testing of the materials for such special equipment as pressure piping components, boilers and pressure vessels.

Since July 1, 2007, the employees qualified for monthly-paid housing subsidies started to enjoy such subsidies.

In October, we completed the 10th anniversary festschrift of Analytical Test Institute in Progress for establishment of the Analytical Test Institute.

By the end of December, the annual sales income of the year broke through 100 million yuan, with the net profit more than 10 million yuan.

On March 11, 2008, in “Annual Conference of China Scientific Instruments 2008 (ACCSI 2008)”, NCS was selected as the “Annual User-Highlighted Instrument Manufacturer”.

On May 9, the NCS board of directors decided to set up NCS Shanghai Branch as a non-independent legal institution.

In May, we introduced ICP spectrometer manufacturing technology and talents, and the ICP spectrometer prototype developed in the same year succeeded in its initial test run.

In August, the project “technology for statistical distribution analysis of the original position for metals” declared by Professor Wang Haizhou won the second prize of national technological invention.

In December, NCS was identified by Beijing Municipality as a hi-tech enterprise in 2008.

In 2008, the property rights transfer was completed in Beijing Grand Honor Management System Certification Co., Ltd, a NCS subsidiary.

The NCS’ investor was changed to China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group for the sole investment.

In mid-March, 2009, the journal of Metallurgical Analysis was collected by the international well-known database SCOPUS.

On May 15, Beijing’s communist party secretary Liu Qi, vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Li Xueyong, Beijing’s mayor Guo Jinlong and other leadership inspected the Group and paid a visit to the laboratory for the original position analyzer for metals and the lasting creep laboratory.

In May, Metallurgical Analysis won the title of the high-quality periodicals covered by the CAST (China Association for Science and Technology) demonstration project of high-quality scientific and technological periodicals.

On June 11, the Group approved NCS to invest 3.5 million yuan to buy a set of one-ton vacuum melting furnace and a set of one-ton intermediate frequency induction furnace.

June 30, the Group party committee commended 2007-2008 “four-good” leading bodies and the Analytical Test Institute was so honored for the first time.

On July 29, NCS obtained the certificate for innovative enterprises in Zhongguancun.

In August, the Group decided to start the procedure for merger and acquisition of NCS and Beijing Huayi Lizhong Technology Co., Ltd. The Group transferred its holding Huayi equity to NCS for free and it was up to NCS to complete cancellation of Huayi.

On September 11, the Group general manager office meeting decided to have the registered capital of NCS increased to RMB50 million yuan.

On November 28, the NCS “pulse heating and time-of-flight mass spectrometric gas elemental analyzer PMA-1000” won the BCEIA 2009 gold medal in The Thirteenth International Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis (BCEIA). Its “large diameter steel pipe ultrasonic/eddy current flaw detection method” won the first scientific and technological award issued by China Association for Instrumental Analysis (CAIA).

In December, the “series standard samples for spectral and chemical analysis of molybdenum, copper, niobium and nitrogen-contained stainless steel” developed by CISRI and recommended by National Standardization Technical Committee won the 2009 “second prize for Chinese standard innovation and contribution award”.

On December 31, chairman of the NCS board of directors Li Bo announced to employ Cai Hongbin as NCS deputy general manager.

On April 15,2010, the Decision for Integration of the Group Analytical Test Sectors was issued, deciding to use the assets, personnel and business of the “National Center for Quality Supervision & Test of Steel Material Products” and the “Sample Processing Division” as a whole into the Analytical Test Institute based on the CISRI Analytical Test Institute.

On April 25, the NCS original position analyzer for metals of independent intellectual property (OPA-100) was debugged successfully in China Steel Corporation (CSC), Taiwan.

On June 17, the Group held a meeting for integration of the analytical test sectors. After integration, Jia Yunhai was employed as director of the Analytical Test Institute, as well as NACIS director; Bao Lei was employed as deputy director of the Analytical Test Institute as well as director of the National Center for Quality Supervision & Test of Steel Material Products; Jia Huiming, Chen Jiwen and Gao Hongbin were employed as deputy directors of the Analytical Test Institute and the NACIS. After adjustment, the NCS leadership was as follows: Jia Yunhai as general manager; Bao Lei, Jia Huiming, Chen Jiwen, Gao Hongbin and Cai Hongbin as deputy general managers.

On July 10, the NCS board of directors decided to set up NCS Haidian Instrument Branch, so that the instrument could be produced where it was registered. Haidian Instrument Branch is not an independent legal branch, registered in Building B of No.3 Plant at No.11, Fengxian Middle Road, Haidian District, Beijing.

On July 28, CISRI issued documents to set up CISRI Analysis and Test Training Center.

On July 28, the Group issued documents to organize the Management Committee of China NIL Research Center for Proficiency Testing by Jia Yunhai, Jia Huiming, Chen Jiwen and Gao Hongbin, with Jia Yunhai employed as director of the Committee.

On August 8, the joint laboratory was established based on Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths and NCS.

On October 27, NCS Haidian Instrument Branch was registered.

In October, Han Bing won the CSM National Award for Youth in Metallurgical Science and Technology.

In January, 2011, NCS completed formulation of its 12th five-year plan.

In April, NCS Yongfeng Industrial Base had its newly-built 6000-square-meter 3C workshop officially put into use, with the Base reorganized.

In April, NCS Restructuring Work Group studied implementation of the restructuring plan for NCS shares and other relevant issues.

On September 28, the Group made a decision as follows: Gao Hongbin no longer acted as NCS deputy general manager, deputy director of the Analytical Test Institute and NACIS deputy director, but was appointed as general manager of CISRI International Trade Co., Ltd.

On November 30, the Group approved NCS to register and set up CISRI Qingdao Marine Corrosion Institute in Qingdao High-tech Zone.

On December 8, the Group decided to employ Yang Zhigang as NCS deputy general manager.

On December 15, Chen Jiwen won “the 12th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology”.

On December 16, China NIL Research Center for Proficiency Testing was officially restructured from a state-owned enterprise to a one-person limited liability company as a wholly-owned NCS subsidiary.

On December 17, the CSM (Chinese Society for Metals) Analysis Test Branch held a meeting and Jia Yunhai was elected as the commissioner of the third-session committee.

In December, Professor Wang Haizhou was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

On January 19, Beijing NCS Analysis Instrument Co., Ltd was renamed as CISRI NCS Testing Technology Co., Ltd. On January 31, CISRI NCS received its business license.

On February 8, China NIL Research Center for Proficiency Testing was renamed as China NIL Research Co, LTD for Proficiency Testing.

On February 22, CISRI NCS Shanghai Testing Laboratory had its construction completed.

On March 1, formal acceptance was made against the project of “LIBSOPA-l00 laser induced spectrum analyzer” jointly completed by CISRI NCS and BAOSTEEL.

On March 12, CISRI NCS Testing Technology Co., Ltd was certificated as a high-tech enterprise, with its registered capital increased from RMB 50 million yuan to 60 million yuan.

On March 23, in “Annual Conference of China Scientific Instruments 2012 (ACCSI 2012)”, CISRI NCS was selected as the “2011 Top10 Most Influential Manufacturer” for the first time.

On April 13, CISRI NCS completed the 100% stake acquisition of Beijing Gangyan Pressure Vessel Inspection Technology Co., Ltd.

In April, CISRI NCS donated School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering of USTB (University of Science and Technology Beijing) to establish the “USTB CISRI NCS Fund” for rewarding of those undergraduate students outstanding in chemical and biological professional practice abilities.

On May 17th, in the 10th China International Scientific Instrument and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition (CISILE 2012) hosted by China Instrument Manufacturers Association, CISRI NCS’ LabSpark5000PLUS full-spectrum spark spectrum analyzer won the “CISILE 2012 Gold Award for Independent Innovations” and its ONH-3000 oxygen nitrogen hydrogen analyzer won the “CISILE 2012 Silver Award for Independent Innovations”. CISRI NCS was the only one winning two awards at the same time among 15 participant enterprises.

On January 15, 2013, Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology issued a document to identify CISRI NCS Technical Center as the 15th batch of enterprise technical centers of Beijing.

On April 19, in the “7th Annual Conference of China Scientific Instruments”, CISRI NCS was honored as 2012 Top10 Most Influential Manufacturers in China’s Scientific Instrument Industry.

On May 17th, in the 11th China International Scientific Instrument and Laboratory Equipment Exhibition (CISILE 2012) hosted by China Instrument Manufacturers Association, CISRI NCS’ new product “rapid rare earth identifier” won the Annual Gold Award for Independent Innovations.

On June 20, the website of Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission released the “Notice on Publication of the List for Identified Beijing Municipal Key Laboratories and Engineering and Technological Research Centers in 2012” and CISRI NCS had its “Characterization Laboratory for Metal Materials” on the list.

On June 26, a meeting was held to elect the CISRI NCS CPC Committee and Discipline Inspection Committee. The first session of the CISRI NCS CPC Committee elected Bao Lei as Secretary of the Committee, and Jia Yunhai and Cai Hongbin were elected as deputy secretary of the Committee; the first session of the Discipline Inspection Committee elected Cai Hongbin as Secretary of the Committee.

On October 23-26, CISRI NCS participated in the 15th Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis (BCEIA) to show its four major professions as instruments, detection, standard materials and proficiency testing respectively. In this Exhibition, CISRI NCS’ “PORT-X300 rapid rare earth identifier” won the BCEIA Gold Award.

On October 25, Moventas agreed to incorporate CISRI NCS Shanghai Laboratory into its cooperative suppliers as well as a China-based laboratory for its global procurement plan.

On November 22, the inaugural meeting for establishment of CISRI NCS Youth League Committee and the first session of youth working conference were held.

In December, CISRI NCS Testing Technology Co., Ltd (Germany) completed all the formalities of registration in Germany and was formally put into operation on January 1, 2014. On December 15, CISRI NCS (Germany) came to settle in its office in Germany.

On December 19, on the prize-awarding ceremony of the opening ceremony of the “2013 Summit on Innovation Method” sponsored by the Innovation Method Society in Beijing, the innovation project of the “construction and demonstration promotion of analysis of the innovation method for analysis and testing in China’s strategic emerging industry - High-speed railway materials and related components” undertaken by CISRI NCS’ chief scientist Wang Haizhou won the “Award for Innovation Method Achievement (Award for Disciplinary Contributions)”.

In December, CISRI NCS had 3 categories of products and a total of 5 kinds of instruments completing the CE certification and obtaining the CE certificates. The “CE” mark is considered as a passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European markets, all “CE”-marked products can be sold in all European Union member countries, without satisfying the requirements of individual members, so that the goods can be freely circulating within the EU member states.

In December, CISRI NCS’ handheld X fluorescence spectrometer PORT-X200 passed the German TUV Safety Certification, able to be used and sold in Germany.
